Banta Bars

Many GT mountain bikes from the 1990s—and plenty of other bikes from that era—came equipped with long, color-matched stems. While it's common for riders to replace those original stems, I've always felt they are an important part of the bike's identity. The stem completes the original frame-and-fork design and extends the unique paint schemes that made these bikes so special. Banta Bars allow you to keep the bike's character intact without compromising comfort.

Banta Bars are adaptable to be used with any type of bike while delivering modern comfort and performance. Manufactured in the USA by S&M, Banta Bars feature a healthy rise and backsweep, providing a natural riding position while maintaining the control and capability needed for off-road riding. (While I designed these for long stems, Banta Bars pair quite nicely with shorter 22.2 stems such as Paul Boxcar or Thomson!)

Raw Bars DISCLAIMER:

We coat these bars with a clear powdercoat to maintain the “Raw” finish that is quite unique. This clear powdercoat allows us to see the metal exactly as it was handmade here in the USA. That being said, the bars will have some markings from machining, bending and knurling. Each bar will go thru a unique oxidization process and slowly develop some patina over time, making each bar one of a kind. While this happens under the surface, the clear powdercoat is tough and durable.
